Finclus is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities.
Scope
This accessibility statement applies to the following Finclus pages:
- Discover (discover.html) — Scheme eligibility checker and funding report
- Scheme Expert (brain.html) — Detailed government scheme pages with figures, eligibility, and application guidance
- Index (index.html) — Scheme search and discovery
Standards
Finclus aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
Accessibility Features
Our pages include the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. A visible skip-to-content link is provided.
- Screen reader support — Proper ARIA landmarks, labels, and roles are used throughout. Form fields have associated labels and error messages are announced.
- Reduced motion — Animations are disabled for users who prefer reduced motion via
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. - Dark mode — Full dark mode support respects system preference and manual toggle.
- Focus visibility — All interactive elements have visible focus indicators.
- Touch targets — Interactive elements meet the 44x44px minimum touch target size.
- Color contrast — Text meets WCAG AA contrast requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Semantic HTML — Proper heading hierarchy, lists, and landmarks are used.
- ARIA live regions — Dynamic content updates are announced to screen readers.
- Modal accessibility — Dialogs can be closed with Escape key and focus is managed.
Known Limitations
We are aware of some limitations and are working to address them:
Third-party content: Some pages embed external content (e.g., bank logos, partner links) that may not be fully accessible. We encourage partners to maintain accessibility standards.
Dynamic scheme data: Scheme information is rendered dynamically. While we ensure proper ARIA attributes, some screen reader users may need to refresh or navigate carefully to ensure content is fully loaded.
Interactive visualizations: Funding stack charts and gauges use visual representations. Alternative text descriptions are provided for screen reader users.
PDF documents: Linked scheme documents (PDFs) may not be fully accessible. Users who need accessible formats can contact us directly.
